A lot people stop us and ask how long after a sheriff’s sale do they have to stay in their homes before the bank kicks them out?
This depends on your lot size.
If you
have over 3 acres the redemption period is 1 year.
Anything smaller it is 6 months.
So if you have a lot size of 90x120 you will have another 6 months to stay in your home, mortgage payment free.
Just be
careful and leave yourself enough time to find a new place to live and move.
The last thing you’ll want to happen is for the sheriff’s department to
forcefully move you out.
Check out video #9 – I’ll go over the sheriff’s sale and notice of default more in depth.
Keep yourself informed….
If you have any questions about the redemption period or any other short sale topic call or email us.
And be sure to call Jerry Smith and Brian LaDue if you would like to short sale your home.
